A return to two dimensions rendered as a perfect checkerboard of black and white squares. The white cells contain delicate, intricate hand-drawn botanical forms — organic line work suggesting flowers, leaves, tendrils, small gestures of growth and life rendered with meticulous precision. The black squares are absolute void, pure negation, empty of everything. The alternation is relentless and regular, creating a rhythm of presence and absence, life and death, growth and emptiness marching across the entire field with no variation, no mercy, no rest.

Statement

Checkeredism #112 descends from the dimensional complexity of #110 and #111 back into the flat plane, but transformed by that journey. After exploring the polyhedron's many hidden faces and burning centre, Sosa returns to the fundamental binary: black and white, presence and absence, the botanical and the void.

The delicate line work in the white squares echoes the organic drawings from #102, suggesting that choice itself has a botanical quality — it grows, it branches, it reaches. Yet every other square is pure nothing, reminding us that life is not continuous, that growth is interrupted, that every flourish is followed by emptiness. The perfect regularity insists that this is not accident but structure, not tragedy but the fundamental pattern of existence.

We are the choices we make — and we are also the spaces between those choices, the voids we must cross, the deaths that punctuate our growth.
