Checkeredism #100
Saturation achieved. The magenta ground has nearly vanished beneath an almost textile density of circular forms — thousands of tiny, intricately rendered rosettes, each one a perfect radial symmetry rendered in fine black line work against the singing background. At a distance, the composition reads as pure pattern, a wallpaper or brocade; up close, each small sphere contains multitudes — concentric rings, radiating lines, impossible geometry compressed into the space of a single breath. The eye cannot hold the whole; it fractures into local detail, into the infinite complexity of individual centres.

Statement
Checkeredism #100 marks a threshold. At the series’ centrepoint — one-third of the way toward the promised 333 — Sosa arrives at a kind of saturation point where the individual and the collective become optically indistinguishable. Each tiny rosette is complete, irreducible, infinite in complexity; together they form a field so dense as to become almost abstract, almost textile, almost decorative.
Yet there is nothing decorative about this work. It is a reckoning: a visualization of what it means to be one among countless others, each making their own choices, each creating their own pattern, all of it held together in a single luminous field. The series has travelled from the external chessboard to the internal self to this moment of multiplication and recognition — that the self is never solitary, never complete in isolation. We are the choices we make, Sosa insists, and those choices are always made in relation to the choices of others, visible as this dense, shimmering collective.
