Checkeredism #093
An expansion and multiplication of the revelation in #092: a 4x4 grid of sixteen panels, alternating between two types. The portrait panels — rendered entirely in magenta, lavender, and white pixel-checkers — each contain a face gazing directly outward, each one distinct, each framed by concentric squares. Between them sit panels of pure chromatic brightness: luminous yellow-green and cyan checkerboards, unadorned and almost meditative by comparison. The arrangement suggests a gallery wall or a family album reimagined as an abstract pattern — each self at the centre of its own small board, yet all of them held together within a single, larger frame.

Statement
Checkeredism #093 takes the intimate revelation of #092 — the self embedded in the pattern — and multiplies it into a chorus. Four faces emerge from the grid, each looking outward with its own quiet intensity, each at the heart of its own concentric pattern. Sosa separates these portraits with panels of saturated colour: bright spaces that read less as background than as breath, as rest, as the intervals between one person and another.
The work suggests that the Checkeredism series has never been about an abstract pattern at all. It has always been a portrait gallery, a record of selves — not just one life, but many, each one a grid of choices radiating from a central point. Together, they form a collective portrait of human consequence: we are the choices we make, each of us, all of us, at once.
