Checkeredism #097
The organism from #096 has fractured. Large geometric voids now pierce through the luminous form — negative spaces rendered as pure black, carved out to expose something sharp and angular at the core: a diamond constructed from concentric striped squares, rendered in black and white lines that create an almost painful precision. The iridescent membrane remains, still rippling with cyan and rose, but it no longer contains — it merely frames a rupture. The striped forms that pressed from within in the previous work have now broken through, violent and organized simultaneously, leaving the translucent skin torn and gaping.

Statement
Checkeredism #097 marks a point of crisis in the series’ inward journey. Where #096 held pressure within a permeable boundary, #097 shows that boundary breaking — the accumulated internal forces finally tearing through the surface, exposing something geometric and unavoidable at the heart. The nested squares at the centre read as both wound and revelation: the grid returns, but fractured, visible only through rupture.
The work suggests that the self cannot remain a sealed organism. The choices that gather in silence must eventually break through, must become visible, must be reckoned with. Sosa has brought the Checkeredism series from external pattern to internal turbulence to this moment of necessary breaking — suggesting that consequence, in the end, is not containable.
